By Snejana Farberov. A married mother from Missouri is facing a child endangerment charge after police said she was photographed topless in a hot tub along with her half-naked year-old daughter. The year-old woman, of Wentzville, is not being named to protect her daughter's identity. The photo that landed the mother in trouble with the law was taken November 14 with the year-old's phone by her sister, according to charging documents. Scroll down for video.

According to St. Charles County Prosecutor Tim Lohmar, the mother told authorities she had no idea the image would be circulated, but it was viewed by students at two high schools through Snapchat , a messaging app that allows users to send text, photos and videos that disappear after a few seconds. Lohmar said it was clear that the woman and her daughter had knowingly posed for the photo. Both of them were covering their nipples, but their breasts were exposed, he said. This was not the first time a nude photo of the girl was distributed at a school, according to court documents.

But somehow the photo got around, and the next thing you know, pretty much everyone at her kids' high school had seen it. Or, you know, NOT. The year-old mom claims she was just getting out of the tub when her daughter snapped the photo and she demanded she delete it. Which obviously the girl didn't do. But the prosecutor maintains it was clearly a posed photo, with both mom and daughter topless , but covering their nipples.
