The best way to describe my thoughts about this album at first listen is that Overkill took all the positives from their previous three releases and swept away the negatives found on those albums. Nothing sounds soft or flat on this record as the sound just punches you right in the teeth. We can thank that crispy, punchy sound to the great Terry Date who I consider to be one of the best producers within the metal community. Honestly out of all the thrash bands, if their is one band that does doom metal and Black Sabbath influenced music the best, that would be Overkill. The music is also longer compared to the previous LPs as the band uses that time to set the atmosphere.
